Many lift / pump stations already have SCADA systems with built in emergency alarm systems. In these cases, the SmartCover® system serves as an independent, alarming system. Because the SmartCover® is a completely self contained unit that operates on an independent digital radio network; it is not affected by any failures at a lift / pump station.
For lift / pump stations without any telemetry, the SmartCover® system is often the only form of alarming. Alarm acknowledgement, alarm level thresholds and system status can be changed and viewed remotely via the Hadronex secure web site. Alarm acknowledgement is also available via a cell phone.
